National Farmers and Ganeden Biotech are working together to increase awareness of the health benefits and the availability of probiotic-enhanced milk to processors.
The probiotics in milk delivers more active cultures more effectively than yogurts, for only pennies a day.
In it’s research, Cornell University reported that probiotics in general improve the health of the gastrointestinal tract, reduce the symptoms of lactose intolerance, help in the treatment of diarrhea, inflammatory bowel disease, and irritable bowel syndrome, and can help prevent colon cancer.
The Joint Food and Agriculture Organization/World Health Organization defines probiotics as “live microorganisms which, when administered in adequate amounts, confer a health benefit on the host.
